July 2008- Painted Ladies Exhibit at SDA is a HIT!!
Sarah Dunn Art opened its doors for the second annual
Bastille Day Celebration with the Painted Ladies show . For
only it's second time around, the Downtown Covington art
festival in July pulled a huge crowd of over 3,000
visitors. Merchants opened their doors for merrymakers to
dine, dance, and experience lots of the local art. Sarah
Dunn Art hosted quite a spectacle for the new exhibit
"Painted Ladies" On display were a collection of new works
by the artist, known for her evocative nudes and vibrant
abstracts. Not to disappoint, there were in fact painted
ladies - three models entertained the crowd painted head to
toe in full body art. One geisha, one Elizabethan queen,
and one walking Sarah Dunn Art diva. If you did have the
good fortune of making it off the beaten path- you probably
noticed the Sarah Dunn Art new Barbie installation that
included a barrage of multicolored dolls strung wall to
wall all in keeping with the theme of classic iconic
beauty. So next time you find yourself in downtown
Covington make sure to walk the extra 20 feet down Boston
St. and you will get to see BIG art in a small unexpected
space.

June 2008- SARAH DUNN ART wins New Orleans Fashion
Show!!!!!!
Worn Again
is a recycled fashion competition that originated in VA in
2005. Recycle for the Arts a non-profit program through the
Green Project hosted it’s second annual Worn Again here in
New Orleans. Designers had 10 days to take the random bag
of recycled clothing and materials to create NEW, ORIGINAL,
and MIND BLOWING fashions that rocked the runway. On June
27th, 52 chosen artists and designers strutted their
talents during this juried event at the Republic New
Orleans. The first prize winning creation was designed by
Covington artist Sarah Dunn in collaboration with make-up
artist Glenn Mosley using mainly recycled upholstery
fabric. Other participating designers included Gio, who
took second place, and Mercy Rich in third. The evening
included other events such as a recycled thrift store art,
Worn Again Jr. fashions, and dance competitions. All items
at the show were up for bid with proceeds benefiting the
Green Projects program Recycle 4 the Arts. Be sure to look
forward to another stunning show next year as Worn Again
Nola returns.

famous writer Truman Capote, Dunn titled her pieces
magnificently using names such as "Breakfast at Tiffany’s"
and "The Muses are Heard". The opening reception for the
show started with GIRLS INK. modeling their paper couture
creations. Followed by the unveiling of "Aerosol Alley",
the new outside exhibition space currently displaying the
urban street art of Marc Fresh and H!PE.
